The self-proclaimed ‘OG’ expressed his disappointment, stating that despite Katapilla’s immense talent, he has failed to capitalize on his skills to elevate his career.

In a candid statement, Khaligraph did not mince his words, declaring that Katapilla is arguably the most skilled rapper in Kenya but is held back by his lack of dedication.

“Sidhani kama kuna jamaa hii Kenya anaweza aka-rap kuliko Katapilla lakini mchezo ndiyo mwingi,” Khaligraph remarked, implying that no other rapper in the country matches Katapilla’s lyrical prowess, yet he fails to put in the necessary effort.

He further emphasized, “He’s lazy. A very lazy guy…” while urging him to take his craft seriously and make the most of his gift.

Katapilla is a well-respected rapper in Kenya’s hip-hop scene, known for his sharp lyricism and unique delivery. However, despite being hailed as one of the best, his career trajectory has been marred by inconsistency, releasing music sporadically and not maintaining a steady presence in the industry.

Many fans and industry insiders have long expressed concerns about Katapilla’s lack of momentum, with some attributing it to personal challenges or a lack of strategic planning in his career.

Khaligraph’s remarks now add fuel to the discussion, putting pressure on Katapilla to prove himself.

Khaligraph Jones, who has consistently been one of Kenya’s top rappers, is known for his relentless work ethic.

His criticism of Katapilla may not just be a personal attack but a call for accountability in the industry.

Many talented artists in Kenya struggle to break through, not because they lack skills but due to a lack of discipline, strategic promotion, and consistency.

Some fans have taken to social media to weigh in on the matter, with mixed reactions. While some agree with Khaligraph’s sentiments, urging Katapilla to step up, others feel that Khaligraph could have offered mentorship rather than publicly calling him out.

It remains to be seen whether Katapilla will respond to Khaligraph’s remarks and, more importantly, if he will take the criticism as motivation to push his career forward. With the right effort, he has the potential to establish himself as a force in Kenyan hip-hop.

For now, all eyes are on Katapilla—will he rise to the occasion or prove Khaligraph right?
