The collaboration will center on exclusive content with UMG artists, exploring innovative product features, and bolstering fraud protection mechanisms to safeguard both artists and consumers.
Additionally, UMG will assist Amazon Music as it expands into new audio territories, including audiobooks, audio-visual programming, and livestreamed content.
UMG Chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing Amazon Music’s commitment to artist-centric principles.
“We are very excited to advance our long-standing, excellent partnership with Amazon Music that marks a new era in streaming—Streaming 2.0,” Grainge said, highlighting the importance of product innovation in driving growth for artists.
The partnership also addresses critical issues such as the rise of AI-generated content and the ongoing challenge of fraud and misattribution, areas both companies will work collaboratively to tackle.
Steve Boom, VP of Audio, Twitch, and Games for Amazon, echoed Grainge’s sentiments, noting that UMG has been a vital partner in Amazon’s mission to create deeper artist-to-fan connections.
