The fallout from ticketing platform Lyte’s sudden shutdown continues to affect music festivals, with Lost Lands now stepping in to compensate fans for unpaid refunds.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Less than a week after the 2024 edition of the festival, Lost Lands announced a plan to support fans affected by Lyte’s closure.
Lost Lands, like many other festivals, was blindsided by Lyte’s abrupt halt in operations, which has left fans without refunds for sold tickets and organizers waiting for substantial ticket-sale payments.
While Lost Lands and similar festivals work to resolve these issues, some upcoming events, such as Australia’s Lost Paradise, have had to pause ticket sales due to the ongoing complications.
Lost Lands is taking legal action against Lyte, suing for over $600,000 in unpaid ticket revenue, but the festival is also focused on maintaining the trust of its community.
In a social media post, Lost Lands acknowledged the “very high cost” of compensating fans and emphasized their desire to “take care of our community.”
Fans who sold tickets through Lyte can now submit claims to Lost Lands, providing proof of the amount owed. The festival will review and verify these claims by November 6th, with payments expected to be issued by November 20th. Lost Lands hopes this gesture will be seen as an effort to support their loyal attendees during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, a liquidator is reportedly seeking a buyer for Lyte’s assets, but the outcome, including whether fans and creditors will be reimbursed, remains uncertain.
