WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that enables users to link their Instagram profiles directly within the app.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! This integration aims to enhance connectivity between the two platforms, both owned by Meta, by allowing users to display their Instagram links on their WhatsApp profiles.
The feature was first identified in the iOS beta version 25.7.10.70 of WhatsApp. It introduces a dedicated section in the Account settings where users can add their Instagram profile links.
Once added, the Instagram link appears beneath the user’s profile picture and name, providing an easy way for contacts to access their Instagram account. Users have control over the visibility of this link through privacy settings, with options such as ‘Everyone,’ ‘My Contacts,’ ‘My Contacts Except…,’ and ‘Nobody.’ This ensures that users can manage who can view their linked Instagram profile.
Currently, the beta version supports only Instagram integration. However, reports suggest that future updates may include options to link other Meta-owned platforms like Facebook and Threads.
It’s important to note that this feature is optional. Users who prefer not to display their Instagram links can choose not to add them.
The feature is still under development and is expected to be available to all users in upcoming updates.
This integration reflects Meta’s ongoing efforts to create a more interconnected experience across its platforms, simplifying the way users share and access social media profiles.
