The actress went on to explain that her deep feelings of anger stemmed from childhood trauma, particularly the difficult arrangement of being raised by both her mother and father, but in separate circumstances. Jackie’s early years were split between two very different environments—living a comfortable and happy life in London with her father, before being taken to Kawangware, where life became much harder.

The abrupt change in lifestyle had a profound impact on young Jackie. “I was living a happy life in London with my father, but when I was taken to my mother in Kawangware, the sweet lifestyle disappeared,” she shared. For Jackie, this dramatic shift made her see her mother as the cause of the pain and struggle that followed. The loss of her joyful, carefree life led her to associate her mother with the hardships she endured.

As she continued, Jackie reflected on how those early experiences shaped her struggles with rejection that continue to affect her today. “I do face rejections even currently,” she said. “I am still struggling with rejection.” The trauma from her childhood, she revealed, had a lasting effect on her emotional wellbeing, making it difficult for her to overcome feelings of abandonment and emotional pain.

Jackie’s candidness about her past and the challenges she still faces today resonated with many who have dealt with similar experiences of childhood trauma and rejection. Though she has worked hard to heal and find peace, her story serves as a reminder of how our early experiences can shape our relationships and emotional health throughout our lives.

In opening up about her difficult journey, Jackie Matubia has given many a glimpse into the complexities of her life and the strength it has taken to move forward. Her story is one of pain, healing, and resilience, and it highlights the importance of addressing past wounds in order to embrace a brighter future.
